This bug bites me quite often and is very annoying. Last time it happened when I copied an URL from the terminal to a browser window.

Maybe, but preferably the other way around (this has 12 affected and 9 duplicates, the other has 5 and 0). The reported address in the error message may be relevant, though, and perhaps we should keep them separate.
