Bug Description

Hi

After this morning's extensive updates I rebooted my computer and found that X seems to now have crashed on this system. I have included a photograph as an attachment. I then logged in and logged out and the problem remained, although slightly more psychedelic this time! (2nd photo). Just to be sure, I rebooted again and the display was exactly the same as in the first photo. Another thing of note is that the network icon shows there to be no Internet connection whereas there is one (I don't know if this is a separate issue.
