Bug Description
Binary package hint: synaptic
Hello,
I put a proxy from the Network Proxy Preferences (Gnome) and I open synaptic. Everything works OK.
Now if that proxy doesn't work and I want to disable it (using Direct internet connection), in order for the
synaptic to get the new proxy settings, I have to close the Network Proxy Preferences (with the "Direct internet connection" checked) , close the synaptic and then reopen the synaptic. Now my NEW proxy settings are read OK.
Maybe this happens because synaptic reads the settings at the beginning? Shouldn't the settings be applied in every action (reload, get packets, etc)?
Thanks in advance

While certainly annoying, I don't think this is release-critical (or rather, there are more important bugs I would like to see fixed).
