Bug Description
Weather applet is not working in docky. Even after configuring my city zip code, I get weired weather information, with a '?' for the weather icon and other weired temperature info. I have tried removing docky, deleting the Docky folder in .local, but the problem seems to persists.

Hi Robert,
Here's a snapshot of the problem I am talking about...
The thing is, the problem persists even in a guest login, so i doubt it
is a per user login issue.
There is another snapshot of information I have entered in the weather
settings dialogue...
Regards,
Jigar

What version of Docky?
Have you tried other weather providers?
You use metric units in Texas? I guess your state is more progressive than we give it credit for! ;-)

Can you please run docky as 'docky --debug' and then recreate the problem and post the terminal output log docky generated?
Also, did you try all of the weather providers? Keep in mind that if you change providers you probably have to delete/re-add your location (as providers require different data to find your location, usually zip code works for all of them).

Hi robert...
thats seems like a way to debug the problem...
I have attached the log generated by the terminal....what I saw was that
the data for various providers was getting a success, but there was some
error with the
drawing service. It may be possible that the data is getting fetched,
but is not being rendered due to some service that is causing the
problem. This is my view
of the problem. What do u think....?

Oh wow, thanks for that log... there is definitely something wrong here.
I am guessing you tried using other weather providers in this log? It looks like you at least tried Wunderground and Weather.com.
I see 2 issues in this log. First, there are lines where it says fetching from iGoogle and then it shows the url for wunderground! Second, there are a lot of lines that just say it refreshed the weather, but there is no fetching of weather. I am not sure exactly what is going on for you.. but something is very much broken.
Let's try resetting your configuration and see if it fixes it. Here is what you do:
1) quit Docky
2) run this from a terminal: gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/docky-
3) run Docky again, open the weather settings, add your zip to whatever weather provider is default and see if it helps

I get NO information from any PROVIDER including one (a friend) that I know supplies a WeatherUnderground station.
Ubuntu Ocelot for my OS.
First time trying Docky.
Generic Ubuntu weather app (not Docky) DOES work.

Same bug with Ubuntu 14.04, docky version 2.2.1.1
What solved for me was restarting the network AFTER booting and running docky.
People even made a script for that: http://
I'm puzzled to know why this is happening, and also why no one is looking into it?
Please include the exact information you entered into the weather settings dialog.
Please include a screenshot of the docklet with 'weird temperature info'.
