Bug Description

Region 1 Thor DVD (from Redbox) causes segmentation fault or failure to play in most (all?) media players on Ubuntu. No player I've tried (totem, mplayer, xine, vlc, mythdvd) is able to watch this DVD. I've tried three separate PCs with different CPUs and different DVD drives running lucid and natty. All three PCs are able to play non-broken discs without crashing.

The DVD has 99 titles with random lengths, and files totaling 42GB (obviously deliberately corrupt). The actual movie seems to be in title 24.

Some prominent error messages (full logs will be attached):

From mplayer dvd://:
Reading disc structure, please wait...
No VTS_TMAPT available - skipping.

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

From mplayer dvdnav://:
libdvdread,ifoOpenVMGI(): Invalid main menu IFO (VIDEO_TS.IFO).
libdvdnav: vm: failed to read VIDEO_TS.IFO
Couldn't open DVD device: /dev/dvd (No such file or directory)
No stream found to handle url dvdnav://
