Bug Description

Firefox used to have a shortcut in the top bar.
This is not present in gnome-panel 3 in 10.10 Oneiric.

With Ubuntu 11.10, we are intentionally packaging it as GNOME intended, which means no extra Firefox icon.

You're welcome to add a Firefox launcher by holding down the Alt key and right-clicking on the top bar. Select Add to Panel and then choose Application Launcher.

But this decreases usability and most people mostly use their computer for the web so it makes it slower to get ready for your task.

Also it was there in previous version of Ubuntu, so for those who upgrade, they will be confused why its not there anymore, since they're accustomed to it.

I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of bug 846378 as that was reported first and mentions all of the differences in gnome-panel from 11.04 to 11.10.
