hit next and it does nothing

hit cancel and it continues

it reappears and if you hit cancel this time you get :

could not commit changes - adept updates

there is an error commiting changes. possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages

i am using kubuntu 7.04 prerelease (aka Feisty)

I marked this as a duplicate of 87641, since that bug contains additional debug information.

Same bug experienced. However clicking cancel on the NICE Value error did not continue for me. Had to close adept, reopen and try again.

After having done this the update appeared to proceed (briefly) before hitting the second error detailed in the original post.

It is worth further noting that on third attempt to patch, same error occurs, and the package attempting to install as it does is:

x11-common

Although telling x11-common not to update does not resolve the issue, and no other package is then displayed as you begin updating.
