Bug Description

In a recent update, my second monitor has started flickering badly when using the fglrx driver with a Radeon 5870.
I've uninstalled it and found that wirh the radeon or simple vesafb, there is no flicker.

As soon as I install fglrx and reboot, the flicker recurs.

I have a cloned (i.e. mirrored) desktop while testing this and the flicker is still there although not very distracting now.

Happens in both Unity 2D and 3D.

I will switch back to an extended desktop with Compiz effects to comfirm the issue I had earlier which was almost unusable flicker only on the second desktop.

I have now managed to get the Unity plugin working with fglrx using jockey and ccsm.
