Same thing happens in the final iso as well as when I upgraded my own system from 11.04.

I can not reproduce, on my clean Lubuntu install. Can you please run pstree and figure out which are the parent processes? The "good" xscreensaver should be started by lxsession.

Pierre, "the final iso", does it mean you see it on a clean install from the Desktop CD, or already in the live session?

Changed in xscreensaver (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

Clean install was from a live session. Note: it also happened when I upgraded my main computer from Lubuntu 11.04.

I fixed the problem by removing @screensaver from etc/..../Lubuntu/autostart and added a shortcut for it in ~/.config/autostart.

I actually did a test replacing @screensaver by @leafpad and 2 instances of of leafpad opened at startup: I.E. the autostart seems to be running twice!

I cannot do a pstree as I fixed the problem as described above.

Thanks. Sounds like a Lubuntu or LXDE problem then, rather than being specific to xscreensaver.
