The same problem here and my architecture is not 64 bits, but 32 bits.

I am using Ubuntu 11.10.

The problem here is still worse: gimp crashes for every image I save (PNG, JPG, XCF, etc).

Why we can't see the other bug that this is duplicated from? It is showing "Not Found"!

Where can we report a launchpad.net bug?? :/

Anyone maybe have more info about this bug?
It is very annoying.

Using Ubuntu 11.10 (64bit), gimp crashes on almost every save or save as (no matter what size of photo, no matter what format - jpg, png, gif, xcf...).
Gimp doesn't crash after 1-3 saves, but always after more than one save (after 3-5 save and than crash).
I also try to upgrade to latest 2.7 gimp, but the same thing happens.

Thanks anyone for more info.

This bug started to appear on my 64bit 12.04 Ubuntu since a few month. Now after a long holiday and thousands of pictures it's very annoying. I removed the broken "duplicate" link to #849288 bcoz it has disappeared. I don't want to change to windows bcoz of this so I'll try to install 2.8 for now...
