5.1 subwoofer goes crazy

Soundcard is a sb audigy analog surround 5.1

The subwoofer is always at maximum, if the level was changed to something smaller nothing hearable happens. If the mixer was closed and opened again, the slider is at maximum again. The sub level is always the same, full power. Except the first minimal, there only static noise over the sound occurs.

Temporarly workarounded with "sudo alsamixer", but this should be user adjustable

Lots of updates today, no change of this problem. After every reboot the subwoofer is switched to maximum.

The subwoofer is now switched back to maximum automatically, you have nothing to do.

With updates october 13 this bug already exists. Unable to change the level, same when do this as root in alsamixer

In full release the bug still exists, when the amplifier below the slider are switched off, it is back on if the window is only refreshed or opened new. Something in the baackground control and reset all user action there.

Bug was fixed with rollback to 11.04, can be closed now

1204b2 - AMD64

In 12.04b2 the output can be switch between analog/amplifier and analog/no amplifier. BUT the subwoofer ist always at full power (slider full right). You can set this to lower, but it switched back to full power from itself.

My intention is, that a slider should be slidable.

Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) reached end-of-life on May 9, 2013.
And Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) reached end-of-life on April 28, 2017.
