Bug Description

Binary package hint: kpdf

When I open large PDF files and search for a text which is not present in it, KPDF consumes too much of memory to the extent of making the system freeze temporarily. This does not happen for smaller files or if the text is found near the current position.

When this happens the memory leak is so huge that it almost freezes my system.

As the KDE bug says, it's not a memory leak, but KPDF just keeps all the information about the text in the document.
Large PDFs means more text information, that in turn means more memory needed to keep them.
