telepathy-salut from 10.04 is not able to send messages to telepathy-salut 11.10

Bug Description

Somehow messages from 11.10 -> 10.04 work but 10.04 -> 11.10 messages get silently dropped, making the feature not usable compared to external services.

Tested chat with iChat user. That user could see my messages but I could not see their messages. I could see their messages come over the wire with wireshark. Assume this is then an issue with the version in 11.10.
