Bug Description

I was viewing two files in 'meld', which had been launched from a 'gnome-terminal'. The app became seemingly unresponsive, so In the same terminal I pressed CTRL-C hoping to kill the process so that I could use the shell, but this only printed a keyboard interrupt message. Next I attempted to suspend it by pressing CTRL-Z. It seems like at the moment I suspended the process, Compiz crashed, but I don't know if there was a direct correlation or causation.
