Bug Description

The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action, is called every 30 mins or so. The message instructs me to report this as a bug here. I am using Samba to connect from Ubuntu 10.04 to Windows 7. The problems have started since replacing a previous Windows XP with this Windows 7. File sharing & printing working OK in both directions. Samba version is 2.3.4.7. Stack trace is:

Hi Chris! Do you think you could do

apport-collect 854457

And also attach /var/log/samba/* to this bug report? (make sure there's nothing sensitive in it before attaching).

Thanks!

i also get this alerts every 2 or 3 days even i restart winbindd every night.

The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for PID 2081 (/usr/sbin/winbindd).

This means there was a problem with the program, such as a segfault.
Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows
the state of the program at the time the error occurred. The Samba log
files may contain additional information about the problem.

If the problem persists, you are encouraged to first install the
samba-dbg package, which contains the debugging symbols for the Samba
binaries. Then submit the provided information as a bug report to
Ubuntu by visiting this link:
