Bug Description

Binary package hint: partman-lvm

This is daily build 20070215.2 feisty-alternate-i386 installer:

If LVM logical volumes already exist, and choosing Manual Partitioning, the LVM partition shows up as no file system, with no indication that it is a PV. There is no indication (including in help) that I should set "use as" to "physical volume for LVM".
Only then does it show "Configure the Logical Volume Manager".

Selecting this says it will write changes to the disk which strikes great fear into my heart that it might overwrite the whole PV.

The installer should detect that it is already a PV, and going into "Configure the Logical Volume Manager" should not entail a write to the disk, similar to going into "Configure the Logical Volume Manager" after a volume group has already been activated.

note: this is similar to bug 39211
