Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that something went wrong during the bug reporting process though as your UbiquitySyslog attachment isn't really the syslog from when you were installing Ubuntu. Could you please manually add the file syslog from /var/log/installer/ and partman from that folder too? Additionally it would help if we could see the file '/usr/share/apport/package-hooks/source_ubiquity.py' to figure out what went wrong. Thanks in advance.

I only found two files in '/var/log/installer/'; "version" and "debug". 'Version' only contain "ubiquity 2.7.28", and 'debug' contains the following:

Ubiquity 2.7.28

(ubiquity:6619): Pango-WARNING **: error opening config file '/root/.pangorc': Permission denied

update_release_notes_label()
/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/misc.py:565: UserWarning: set_indicator_keymaps: this function currently does not work
  warnings.warn('set_indicator_keymaps: this function currently does not work')
update_release_notes_label()
debconf: DbDriver "passwords" warning: could not open /var/cache/debconf/passwords.dat: Permission denied

I've added /usr/share/apport/package-hooks/source_ubiquity.py as an attachment. Hope this helps.
