Bug Description

Currently Oneiric has Darktable-0.9 in it's Universe repositories. However 0.9 was quite a bumpy release, and has it's share of bugs.

Debian Wheezy/testing has Darktable-0.9.2 in their repos, which has a LOT of bugs fixed.

Please sync.

please post the relevant changelogs of the debian package and the upstream software.
If the changes include new features which could introduce regressions you will have to request a feature freeze exception:

I'm a member of the Darktable development team.

Darktable 0.9 was VERY buggy...

Darktable 0.9.2 should have little or no new features.

And as I indicated heaps and heaps of important bugfixes.

We are working on 0.9.3 now, which includes more bugfixes, but will probably not be available in time. But we'd like at the very least to get 0.9.2 included instead of 0.9

We have no _pure_ bugfix releases, there is always some minor feature slippage...

But, we never introduce major changes in point releases. So regressions are unlikely.

And like I said, 0.9 was a pretty bad release all round (in hind-sight).

Upstream release notes:

0.9.2:
    updated translations
tiling for memory hungry operations and as workaround for old opencl 1.0 drivers
new color matrices and white balance presets
a lot of stability issues have been resolved
a lot of performance improvements (more sse code, better opencl code)

0.9.1:
    new rawspeed, dcraw, libraw
    fixed various segfaults and deadlocks
the pipeline is now more real HDR (unbounded color management, no more gamut clipping in between)
fixed a nasty bug which could cause complete loss of history for an image
darktable-faster now plays nicely with darktablerc (non-gconf)
    lots of opencl improvements
    updated translations
second part of our GSoC: customizable keyboard shortcuts!

As an Ubuntu developer, this sync appears fine, especially with the warnings of upstream about 0.9 quality . I'll subscribe ubuntu-archive and unsubscribe ubuntu-sponsors.

This seems to have been done in precise. However, it looks as though you want changes made in oneiric, so I've opened a task for that. Given that oneiric is now stable (sorry, I'm not quite sure why this sync didn't get processed in time), I'm unsubscribing ubuntu-archive since this will now need to happen according to http://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates.

Changed in darktable (Ubuntu):
status: New → Fix Released
no longer affects: darktable (Ubuntu Oneiric)
