Bug Description

If you install an application from sources, every time you reinstall this application its icon disappears from the launcher. This is particularly annoying if you are a developer of the application and need to make the installs frequently and need the application in the launcher.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install e.g. gcalctool from sources.
2. Put its icon to the launcher.
3. Run 'make install' of gcalctool again.
4. Result: gcalctool is removed from the launcher.

I expect that the reason for this behavior is that launcher checks the gnome icon cache for modifications and that during 'make install' the icon is first removed and then added which causes the launcher removes the icon but then it doesn't re-add it.
