Renaming a file selects the whole filename

Ubuntu 11.04 (2.6.38-11-generic x86_64)

According to https://help.ubuntu.com/11.04/ubuntu-help/files-rename.html , only the first part of a file, without the ending, should be selected when pressing F2. In previous Ubuntu versions this worked, but in 11.04 it keeps selecting the whole filename.

it works as described there, do you get the issue on any file? what filename do you use?

Happens with all files.

I don't think I did anything to cause this. Is there even an option to change the behaviour? As far as I remember, it's been like that since I installed Ubuntu 11.04.

I expect it to do what is says in the Ubuntu website: When you rename a file, only the first part of the name of the file is selected.

It just selects the whole file name, for all files. There's not much else to it that I could describe in detail.
