Bug Description

After recent update in 11.10 beta, I lost all sound output.
Description: Ubuntu oneiric (development branch)
Release: 11.10

Sound card is recognized and seeems to be working fine. But trying to get sound output produces no sound at all. It happend during the last 7 days.

I notice my sound is always muted when I do a fresh restart. Might be something here.

Hi Eirik and thanks for reporting this bug. Have you tested both headphones and internal speakers, and they're both broken?

Please run this terminal command:
pasuspender -- speaker-test -c 2 -D plughw:PCH -t sine

And verify it is not working on either headphones nor internal speakers.

If it does work, please supply a PulseAudio log ( wiki.ubuntu.com/PulseAudio/Log ), if it doesn't, please try an older kernel and see if that helps. Thanks!

I testet both speakers and headphones, none where working even after several computer restarts.
But after updating the system today, things started working again. I also noticed I was missing some permissions, because I was unable to suspend the computer using the menu. I had to call sudo pm_suspend manually..

But you can close this bug, as it disappeared after an update either last night or today.
