i tried it with "alsa" driver - same final effect (albeit with slightly different inside of the message)

actually in the meantime i have found out the problem is not existing anymore for me. as far as i can tell after some update in still pre-final release stage jack allowed me to choose the actual audio card:
setup -> "interface >" -> hw:0 Mia
and the problem's gone.

I had the same problem until I added my user to the Audio group...
