Bug Description

Was using Dash Home on unity to find a program and stopped typing and wanted to backspace. The lens froze up and I was not able to escape out of it or delete what I had typed. After about 45sec - 1 minute unity crashed and the compiz error was presented. Unity automatically restarted after that.

1. Using: Description: Ubuntu oneiric (development branch) Release: 11.10 beta 1
2. apt-cache policy compiz :
    compiz:
        Installed: 1:0.9.5.94+bzr2803-0ubuntu1
       Candidate: 1:0.9.5.94+bzr2803-0ubuntu1
         Version table:
           *** 1:0.9.5.94+bzr2803-0ubuntu1 0
            500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
           100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

      apt-cache policy unity :
          unity:
              Installed: 4.14.2-0ubuntu2
             Candidate: 4.14.2-0ubuntu2
             Version table:
               *** 4.14.2-0ubuntu2 0
              500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
             100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3. When typing in the Dash Home Search, when I stopped typing and hit the backspace key; I would expect the previous character of the search string to be erased, and the search results altered accordingly. I would also expect hitting the esc key would exit out of the Dash Home and return me to the desktop.

4. Instead Dash Home screen froze, I was no longer able to type anything and was unable to escape out of it. Eventually Unity crashed and produced the Compiz crash
