Thanks; we'll get this from Debian automatically for precise. Do you need it backported to oneiric as well? No promises, but the change looks straightforward enough it could be considered if it's needed.

Actually, the multiarching would result in changed paths for the binaries in the package, which theoretically should be quite safe, but it has tremendous risk. It won't be able to fulfill SRU criteria.

I don't know why you need libxtst multiarched, but one option I'd suggest would be to copy the package into a PPA that you guys can share.
