Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-cups-manager

The binary package of the Splix driver for Samsung Printers provides four different languages. When using it to manage a printer through the CUPS web interface at http://localhost:631/, the language tags are displayed allowing the user to select the one he prefers. However, when using gnome-cups-manager, the four versions are displayed under the same name without language tags.

Steps to reproduce: install the Splix driver provided at:
http://openprinting.org/download/printdriver/RPMS/i486/splix-1.0.1-1lsb3.1.i486.rpm
... following these instructions:
http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/Database/DriverPackages
Add a new printer and select the driver for the Samsung ML-1610.

Expected results: Four entries with the same name appear in the dropdown list.

Version: Ubuntu Edgy Eft with latest updates.

We have changed the default print management system in Ubuntu from gnome-cups-manager to system-config-printer because g-c-m is no longer maintained upstream. Could you confirm whether this still occurs in Gutsy or Hardy? Thanks!
