Bug Description

When i attach my USB scanner to PC after boot Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 1 Live DVD, usb-devices utility show this info about device:

T: Bus=04 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=ff MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=03f0 ProdID=0605 Rev=01.00
S: Manufacturer=Hewlett-Packard
S: Product=HP ScanJet 2200C
C: #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr=0mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=ff Driver=(none)

I run sane-find-scanner, it writes:
  # sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the
  # result is different from what you expected, first make sure your
  # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.

  # No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that
  # you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.

found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [Hewlett-Packard], product=0x0605 [HP ScanJet 2200C], chip=LM9832/3) at libusb:004:002
  # Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by
  # SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.

  # Not checking for parallel port scanners.

  # Most Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports
  # can't be detected by this program.

I run sane-find-scanner again and it hangs after messages:
 # sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the
  # result is different from what you expected, first make sure your
  # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.

  # No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that
  # you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.

I'm trying to kill it from other teminal window by "sudo kill -9 #PID" but it doesn't kill the process running sane-find-scanner ...

When i check USB status by usb-devices utility again, there is the last line different - instead of "Driver=(none)" is there "Driver=usbfs"

When the scanner is attached before system boot, the line driver is usbfs directly after system boot and scanner detection hangs during first run of sane-find-scanner.

Graphical sane frontends (simple scan, xsane) hangs during scaner detection too...

The scaner works under Windows OK and should be supported in sane via the Plustek Scanner Driver.
