Bug Description

https://help.ubuntu.com/6.10/kubuntu/desktopguide/C/hardware.html reads "sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf_backup
sudo nvidia-glx-config enable" in the 3D Nvidia Video Card Driver sections however it should read sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf_backup
sudo nvidia-xconfig" which is the new way of setting up the nvidia drivers and documented correctly in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/Nvidia

https://help.ubuntu.com/6.10/ubuntu/desktopguide/C/graphics-cards.html also seems to have the same error in the "3D Nvidia Video Card Driver" section

Thanks for posting this. Was the bug in Kubuntu Desktop Guide or in the Ubuntu Desktop guide or both?

Hi

Is this bug big enough to warrant a fix? (in other words: is it worth the trouble?)
If yes, I'll start working on it right away.

Richard - did you fix this bug in Ubuntu too? why was it marked as invalid?

It's very important when closing a bug as invalid to leave a comment to explain.

Since this bug was reported it has become much easier to install restricted drivers on Ubuntu, and the instructions in file:///usr/share/gnome/help/hardware/C/hardware.xml#restrictedmanager-disable seem to get it right. I'll close this bug now.
