Bug Description
* I am not sure if I am reporting this bug against the right app (it might be power management or compiz related). *
Whenever I put my laptop into sleep mode, the Desktop is completely unusable due to it being a white garbled area that completely hides the Desktop and won't refresh. I cannot see anything (no dialogues, not Windows, etc). All underlying dialogues still seem to function, however, and so does Unity. The Dash reveals part of the Desktop when opened, but it goes back to being garbled as soon as the Dash closes.
The only workaround is to log out (since I cannot see the dialog, I have to press enter hoping that the right button is active at the time) of the session and come back in. This is especially frustrating considering that I might be working on an open document with unsaved data and, when coming out of sleep mode, the document is still open, however it is completely inaccessible to me because I cannot *see* it to manipulate it with the mouse.
I am on a Macbook Pro with nVidia GeForce 9600M GT, latest driver.

I am posting my additional comments here because I feel that bug #676166 looks quite different from what's happening on my laptop. Please see the attached screen photos.
