Bug Description

Binary package hint: kopete

This is the call that fails to work properly. Seems to be a minor syntax error in this script, but I don't have time to look into it myself, sorry.

$ kopete_latexconvert.sh -r 75x75 -o /tmp/foo.png h_1
/usr/bin/kopete_latexconvert.sh: 1: let: not found
test: 1: out.eps: unexpected operator
ln: creating symbolic link `./*.eps' to `/tmp/*.eps': File exists
/usr/bin/kopete_latexconvert.sh: 1: let: not found
test: 1: out.eps: unexpected operator
ln: creating symbolic link `./*.eps' to `/tmp/*.eps': File exists
/usr/bin/kopete_latexconvert.sh: 1: let: not found
test: 1: out.eps: unexpected operator
ln: creating symbolic link `./*.eps' to `/tmp/*.eps': File exists

The repeated errors repeat indefinitely until the script gets killed.

Thank you for filing this bug.

This sounds like a duplicate of Bug 71665, which has been fixed in Feisty. What version of Kubuntu and Kopete are you running?

Can you try changing /bin/sh to /bin/bash in kopete_latexconvert.sh and see if that fixes your problem?

Changed in kdenetwork:
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

the problem had to do with the let keyword, so I fixed that line and then no more infinite loop. Not sure whether my fix is portable, since I have no experience with sh.

Looks like they already figured it out, but anyways, can you post your patch at http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135997
