Bug Description

Konqueror resets the position to the top of the current page while loading a new page.
This behaviour is confusing as it seems that the new page has already been loaded.

This is a KDE 3.5.6 regression:

The fix for the bug has already been posted there.

Sorry to repost, but IMHO this bug is a major usability issue.
The solution is a 1-line patch, it should be quick and easy to fix.. ;-)

I can confirm that this bug is still present. I think the behaviour is very disorienting (especially for new users) and the simple patch should be applied.

This critical SHOWSTOPPER BUG is still present in beta.

But let us see what the konqueror developers recommend here:
http://commit-digest.org/issues/2007-02-04/moreinfo/628618/

Extract:
"Attention packagers! Please include this patch in new versions of your khtml-3.5.6 packages. Web surfing experience can be considered broken without it."

A patch is available. Please include it.

Does NOT work for me on Edgy with packages version 3.5.6-0ubuntu1, using repository http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-356/
Are there updated packages for Kubuntu Edgy?

no.

It takes ages to build them, and we're all working on feisty.
