Windows from another workspace displayed in gnome shell's overview

When I have more than one workspace, and switch to overview mode, I can sometimes see windows from another workspace in the background behind the thumbnails of the current workspace.

On this screenshot, you can see the first workspace in overview mode. The thumbnails of the applications are correct (firefox and terminal), but, in the background, you can see synaptic, which is actually opened in the second workspace and should not be displayed at all.

On the attached screenshot you can see that there are other display glitches (activities button with stranger colors) and white blocks over the synaptic title bar. My video card is an ATI Radeon Mobility using the open source driver. May all thos display problems be related?

Did you update from natty with the gnome3 ppa? I had the same problem, i could solve it by getting rid of my old settings

I have an NVIDIA video card and besides from the display glitches, have the same issue in Oneiric.

For some more information, did a fresh install, not a upgrade.

I believe this is a duplicate of bug 875954 which appears to be caused by bug 838577 so I'm going to mark it as a duplicate.

I don't even have a ATI vga and got this bug. I don't know if it is a duplicated.

I use the ATI open source driver. So, whether it's not a dup of bug #838577, or the said bug's summary is wrong.

This is a duplicate of bug 875954 which itself appears to be caused by the gconf bug 848198. Sorry again for the confusion.

This cannot be a duplicate of that bug. It says the bug is fixed and distributed, but I am fully up to date on my software and this behaviour still occurs. Using Ubuntu 11.10 64bit and gnome-shell. I've got an AMD VGA (HD5770) using open source drivers.
