the debian changelog says:
* Sync with ubuntu: daemon
- Stop installing the g-p-m autostart xdg file, the daemon parts have been
replaced by gnome-settings-
it seems gnome-power-manager has been subsumed in gnome-settings- daemon now. (although it's not very explicit in the ubuntu changelog.)
could you have a look if there is any functionality missing when using a current gnome-settings- daemon?
