upon executing apt-get dist-upgrade kismet, gnome-terminal is launched to proceed with the installation; however, i can not get passed the first screen, as enter doesn't work and there is no okay "button" to select.

This has been resolved. After waiting a few minutes, I was given the option
to proceed to the next screen within the terminal.
