Hi Evger.

Please could you attach a sample file that causes the crash?

Hi Evger,

How are you trying to open the file? Are you doing it from the command-line or from File->Open... or File->Import...?

Also, does the entire application crash or do you just get a warning dialog?

For me, the file opens fine if I go through the menus. However, if I open it from the command-line with "inkscape logo.eps", I get a dialog with:

Then i saw Import from pdf dialog. And then this error.
At this time error showed at 4th try.

And look at the preview image. This contains right collors i needed, but then image imported collors corrupted.

not exactly sure if this is relevant, but on my download I got the file logo.ps, not logo.eps

I can't comment on the original crash, because I can't reproduce it.

However, apart from that, there is a problem in Inkscape with respect to the color gradients in the image. Attached is a pdf file obtained from the .ps file using the DOS command : ps2pdf logo.ps logo.pdf. I believe this is the same as what Inkscape does as well in its conversion. The pdf file appears to be a good rendering of the original .ps file, including the color gradients. However, when I import the pdf file into Inkscape, all the color gradients are gone (or not used, to be more precise).

Most likely the same as Bug #530895 “Opening EPS with Gradient”:
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/530895>
(gradients are present but incorrectly transformed (or not transformed at all)

Probably your browser sticks to the mime type of the attached file and rewrites the suffix:
