Hello,

The version of Ubuntu you are using (9.10) is no longer supported as of April 30, 2011; I would recommend upgrading to the current version (11.04), and then can you please see if the problem still occurs?

The best way to upgrade is by using update manager, sequentially (in descending order) following the instructions which can be found at:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LucidUpgrades
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MaverickUpgrades
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NattyUpgrades

Thanks in advance,
Timothy

Many apologies, I only noticed your installation media and not your current release, you can safely disregard that previous canned response.

I cannot replicate this bug on my system in a fully updated version of LibreOffice on Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit.

I have the same with a fully updated system of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with Libre Office 3.5.3.2

Makes the navigator quite unusable because it is obscuring a fixed part of the spreadsheet.

Ideas for a workaround

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit and have the same issue too. But I found a tricky workaround:

1.) At first if LibreOffice is running, than close any LibreOffice windows (Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, etc. ...).

2.) Now start only LibreOffice Calc and maximize the Calc window

3.) Open the navigator by pressing F5 or via "View > Navigator" and move it to the right window side of the Calc window --> the navigator is going to dock correctly ...

4.) Then close LibreOffice Calc by the clasic way "File > Exit" ... --> this will save the position of LibreOffice's Navigator window for all programs like Writer, Calc, Impres, Draw and so on permanently ...

From now every time when you start any LibreOffice program, then the navigator will be automatically displayed as docked window on the right side...

I know this does not solve the issue for everyone, but for me it is a acceptable workaround ... :)

Reproduced this in 12.10 with libreoffice-calc 1:3.6.0~rc4-0ubuntu2

The navigator obscures most of the menu bar if the libreoffice window is fullscreen, which makes it impossible to use the menu to turn off the navigator. Workaround is to take the libreoffice window out of fullscreen mode, move it, and shut off the navigator.
