Starting Update Manager to show updates (if any) by my computer using nouveau graphics driver takes several minutes due to that unnecessary Xorg activity.

In Xubuntu 11.10 starting Update Manager does not take that much time, but still X seems to take all available CPU resources, while Update Manager starts and prepares to show available updates.
