Bug Description

Trying to circumvent bug #834523, I've adjusted a line in gnome-region-panel.desktop to get keyboard layout selection. This is what happened next:

$ cat /usr/share/applications/gnome-region-panel.desktop |grep Only
OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity;

$ gnome-control-center region
(gnome-control-center:15870): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

(gnome-control-center:15870): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_strchug: assertion `string != NULL' failed

(gnome-control-center:15870): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_strchomp: assertion `string != NULL' failed
