developer-portal and ubuntudeveloperportal are confusingly similar

https://launchpad.net/developer-portal is "Developer registration portal".

It's not obvious how these differ, or why they both exist.

Either they should be merged, or at least one of them should be renamed to make its purpose clearer.

My opinion would be to change the developer registration portal to MyApps and keep them separate. The Ubuntu Developer Portal is for anything related to the full developer.u.c site where "myapps" would be specific to the myapps application functionality. Two distinctly different groups manage issues/request in each. I don't think it is appropriate to merge.

The title on that LP project is "Developer Registration Portal". This serves to clearly differentiate the functions, despite the URL commonality.

I don't think any change is needed on developer.ubuntu.com.

Kyle, I didn't say anything needed changing on developer.ubuntu.com. This bug report is about the Launchpad projects.

Anyway, it's not particularly productive for both of you to wontfix this bug in your respective projects on the grounds that it's the other project's fault. Please, talk to each other and figure it out. Reopening.

So I agree that if a change is needed, it is probably the URL for the LP project: https://launchpad.net/developer-portal

As I noted, this is not as specific as it arguably should be. But, I am not sure whether it is advisable to change that URL since it may be well known and linked to from various places.

On the plus side, I think the title of that project is more specific and mitigates the problem.
