Bug Description
What i expected to happen:
The playback item of the Sound Menu should control Totem's playback of audio content, so that i could FW RW, Play, Pause and Skip content in Totem via the Sound Menu.
What happened instead:
Totem doesn't talk to the Sound Menu.
This one is extremely serious to me, playing back music and watching movies are applications for which a large percentage of people choose a computer as their favourite appliance/playback device, especially because the combination of mobile office and home media center in one device makes the computer such and inexpensive combined solution.
The way Ubuntu currently treats music libraries, music playback, video playback and the way it mistreats Totem in this respect is unacceptable to the point that i hear a lot of "i went back to 'Doze because Linux didn't handle my music reasonably".
This can be cured with the proper intention, the proper thought conceived (concept/design) and the proper words outspoken (code magic), and i believe strongly that making Totem controllable via the Sound Menu would represent a decisive and large step towards such a solution.
this bug belongs with Totem, if it were to support standard MPRIS2 then it would integrate into the sound menu.
