Bug Description

Google Music Frame 0.1

Ubuntu 11.04 Unity 64-bit

Closing the app while music is playing will result in the music continuing to play. I can also continue to control playback using the sound menu. Starting a new Frame does not "reconnect" to the currently playing song. It will, however, play over it. Only way to stop this is to kill the processes.

Expected behavior. From https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoundMenu: "A compliant player should also keep playing if you close its window while it is playing; exit if you close its window while it is not playing; and remember exact state across sessions, so that after exit and relaunch it is as if the player had never exited."

Definitely a bug.

When the window is hidden can be raised from Sound menu or a new instance is launched?

Fixed in trunk r26. Will be available in daily builds PPA. The "Closing the app while music is playing will result in the music continuing to play." behavior can be turned off in configuration file ~/.config/google-music-frame/main.conf by appending line "hide_when_playing = off" (without quotes).

This is odd. After pausing music and closing my most recent Frame, I can open a new instance from my launcher. Then while this is open and playing, I click on the sound menu and click "Google Music Frame" there, it will show me the previously mentioned closed instance, instead of the currently playing song.

You can see on the attached screenshot, that Dave Mathews is the currently playing artist, however, the sound menu still thinks 3 Doors Down is the current song.

Also note that the instance on the left is not connected to the sound menu at all. I cannot control the currently playing instance.

It's expected behavior. The first instance is connected to the sound menu, therefore the second one can't connect and update the current song. The bug is that the second instance should raise the hidden window and exit immediately instead of launching new frame.
