i was trying to install 11.04 on a lvm volume. the install with alterate and expert mode did not work (no grub.cfg produced, no initram etc.). then i installed with the desktop and could at the end not do the chroot to the new system and install lvm2 there (/dev/null: permission denied).
it would be useful to simplify installation with lvm.
