Bug Description
unity dies at login, window decorators, launcher, top panel, desktops are all missing. There is nothing in /var/crash/ except a crash report for ccsm, which I ran to check whether unity was enabled and what the window decorator was set to, that crash came on closing ccsm.
The desktop does display and programs can be opened and run (with out decorator), and Unity2D (yes I know its a different code base) is working.
Yesterdays update did this to two separate machines. I can attach logs from the other machine if you let me know what logs you are interested in.

compiz --reset and all the updates since this was filed didn't fix this, neither did uninstall unity, and compiz. What did work is removing and reinstalling the list of packages from
dpkg -l | grep compiz ; dpkg -l grep unity
unity is now working, so closing
