Bug Description
Now that the API supports colocated branches, it would be nice to also have our default format support them.
This could presumably be done without adding a new format, but by simply keeping a branch reference around in .bzr/branch. This way, old bzr implementations can still access the active branch, but not see what branches there are or switch between them.
