Bug Description
SoundKonverter version 1.0.0 rc2 from Kubuntu natty repository
Trying to transcode mp3 to aac. Transcode fails, log shows Unknown encoder 'libfaac'

Your ffmpeg version doesn't support libfaac and thereby encoding aac files.
You can install faac or neroaac and configure soundkonverter to use one of these backends.
It might also be a good idea to use the latest soundkonverter version 1.0.0. See http://
