[panel] libreoffice menu isn't shown in panel until focusing another app and refocusing libreoffice

I've installed lo-menubar; in unity 3d it work great, but in unity 2d it has a little bug: when I start Writer I can't select the menu because it's empty. If I select an other window (e.g. google chrome) and select the libreoffice window, the LO menu is shown in the panel

Hmm, interesting you should be having that problem. I cannot reproduce it with Writer, but your problem is that same issue I am having with Empathy. Weird - but that is a separate bug report though. What version of unity-2d, lo-menubar and libreoffice writer are you using?

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the issue here. The menu is correctly exported to the panel with libreoffice calc when lo-menubar is installed. I am on an up to date Oneiric.

I can reproduce the problem with LibreOffice 3.4.3 and Ubuntu 11.10 beta 2 running the latest unity-2d build.

Hmm, it seems it does not exhibit this behavior when you click on a file and it is opened in writer or calc or whatever - it only does it when I open writer or calc with a new blank document.

I have this issue with libreoffice, unity-2d and oneiric.
It is reproducible on different machines.

I confirm this for oneiric; I also confirm that it only happens when you open Writer with a new blank document (e.g. from launcher or by Do).

This happens to me as well, and has even happened with Calc and Impress at times.
Here is something interesting as well. Upon uninstalling "lo-menubar", the menus did not seem to show anymore in Unity 2d. In the rest of my DM's (including Unity '3d') it worked with no problems.
