Mobile broadband GSM/HSUPA status doesn't update

Bug Description

The status doesn't update unless I reconnect the connection. Sometimes it says GSM when I have way more bandwidth than what 2.xG supports (See the screenshot). Other times it says HSUPA when bandwidth is at a snails pace.

The status looks like this:
3 Internet (3 UK GSM)
3 Internet (3 UK HSUPA)

If the status correctly updated, this would be a useful feature. When bandwidth goes slow, I would be able to click on the NM applet and check to see whether I've lost HSUPA signal and fallen back to GSM.

Ideally the status should be refined to support these 4 values:
* '2.5G - GPRS'
* '2.75G - EDGE'
* '3G - UMTS'
* '3.5G - HSPA'

That's very much how it's set up already. I'm guessing you're just missing an update of the menu at this point, since in Natty it takes a little while to update menu entries (fixed in Oneiric).

Could you please try this with the development release LiveCD and report back to confirm that it now reports the correct speeds there?
