I've just reported a possible duplicate, bug 938383.

For me this bug occurs when I log in without an internet connection or some time after disconnecting my internet connection while logged in.

Anyone else noticed crashes related to unavailable internet access?

I really don't know what happened; I chose this bug because it's what was picked for me. Indicator-weather crashed while I was on the Internet, without error messages, so I have no information on the crash.

Does this all the time; especially over night. Crash notification present when logging on in morning. 12.04.

This time it crashed as soon as I noticed that it had stopped. This is a show-stopper for me since I need to monitor weather constantly. 12.04 fully updated.

Sam_ (and-sam) wrote :

@nbday, the show-stopper actually is that there is no one really there to fix those bugs.
Please note bug 882014

I agree with the other users. This is highly unprofessional. 12.04 is a LTS release, and the applet just keeps crashing. Cannonical, you behave in an unprofessional manner.

This package is in Universe, therefore it has no official support from Canonical.

@pablomme, please look at the comment above the one I wrote. It's between ridiculous and outrageous that Cannonical does not support packages that run on one's desktop by default.

pablomme (pablomme) wrote :

@Nadav, indicator-weather is not part of the default installation. It's in Universe, meaning it's supported by its relevant upstream ("the community") and not by Canonical; only packages in Main (and possibly Restricted) are in the default installation.

This report and bug 927384 are the same. There's not too much to differentiate them, but bug 927384 has received a little attention from the release managers, so I'll make that the master. Thanks.
