Is this issue locale-dependent? I am unable to duplicate this here in the en_US.UTF-8 locale. So far, all 3 people who are affected are apparently in Russia or Ukraine. Is that "just conicidence", or does it *only* affect Cyrillic locales, or something like that?

I just noticed that in the bug description from apport, there is an entry:

Config_pcmanfm_System_gnome-classic: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/etc/xdg/pcmanfm/gnome-classic/pcmanfm.conf'

That file does not exist on my systems; is this just an apport reporting issue, or could it be relevant to the issue being reported?

is not locale-dependent. try lubuntu 10.04 in virtualbox. locale was eng. just add lxde and lubuntu-desktop launchpad ppa's and update only pcmanfm to 0.9.8.
