dockbarx hover causes compiz to freeze

Bug Description

Sometimes when hovering over an icon on my dock, my IO wait will rocket up to 100% and X becomes nonresponsive. I can resolve the issue by switching to a VT and killing then restarting Compiz, but it only happens when I use DockbarX. Normally I run DBX in AWN, but I used run-in-window to get some info. I believe it froze up around the DBus introspect error messages.

I'm turning off the DBX options for Compiz effects, since NONE of them seem to work anyway. The scale plugin used to activate when clicking a group, but that stopped working (scale still works fine by itself). I've never seen the opacify part work, nor have I ever seen the "needs attention" effect run. Right now the opacify function is my guess for a likely culprit, since that is triggered on hover as well.

My guess is that you don't have the compiz dbus plugin running if scale doesn't work. Still I could look into it and change the compiz calls to be async to stop DockbarX to freeze just because of small (?) things like this.

I have checked and I do have the DBus plugin running. Like I said, scale has worked before, but it has always been iffy and sometimes decided to stop. Usually when scale stopped working, it would stop for the rest of that session and would start working again when I restarted.

Since I turned off the DBX Compiz effects I haven't had any more freezing. If you make any changes though I would be more than willing to turn them back on and test.
