Bug Description
I've seen bug reports for this problem in Kubuntu but I'm using regular Ubuntu and having a similar issue. I'd like to add that going in and manually editing /etc/apt/ sources. list works to disable the repositories; then the items show as unchecked in the software sources application. So I'm guessing the problem lies somewhere in the UI and not the sources list.
